Pub Theology with
Bob Johnston and Brian Coyer

Group will meet at the Craft Breww City
at Orchard Lake & 12 Mile Road.

Starting September 22nd

Mondays - 7:00 - 9:00 pm.

Pub Theology offers participants an informal setting to discuss life’s biggest questions. Participants will tackle a variety of questions from a diverse group of topics.  Though many of the questions we will tackle touch on questions of faith, spirituality and the presence of God in our modern world, Pub Theology is not a bible study. In fact, participants need not be Christians or even profess to believe in God. Our discussions seek to find common ground, open ourselves to differing perspectives, and to learn more about our fellow participants’ view of the world and the universal challenges and mysteries that we all face. We will have lively, non-judgmental discussions that are serious, yet fun, in a casual setting.

Finding Faith in Film
Dr. Althea Simpson

Group will meet in the Lounge at Franklin Church

Starting September 24th

Wednesdays - 7:00 - 9:00 pm.

To find faith through film study, we will examine movies for Christian themes like redemption, sacrifice, and grace, and use film-based resources such as books and online guides that offer discussion questions and related scripture. We will discuss films to bond and share perspectives, or watch with a critical, spiritual lens to deepen your personal understanding of faith's role in everyday life and storytelling.

For Christians, walking by Faith is a way of life. Continuing to grow in Faith on our life’s journey is often a challenge. Our Bible is one of the tools we have to help us remain inspired and uplifted as we endeavor to grow in faith. Join us as we learn more about our Bible as a tool for our faith journey, and enjoy sister ship, and uplifting activities.

New 5-Week Series
Sundays at 11:15 AM

  • This series offers us more than discussion—it is a sacred invitation. An invitation to go deeper. Deeper into Scripture. Deeper into our discipleship. Deeper into relationships with those who have been pushed to the margins and too often spoken of with dehumanizing rhetoric.
  • These conversations may stir discomfort. They may uncover truths we’d rather not face. But they also carry the potential for healing, for growth, and for transformation—if we are willing to listen with humility and respond with courage.
  • I hope you will join us for this important journey. Your presence, your voice, and your heart matter.

THANK YOU to ALL who participated in our
2022 Community Love Day

Picture
A few months ago an idea was born. The idea was to help as many people in need in our community as we could in one day. MANY THANKS to everyone who volunteered for Community Love Day 2022 and prayed for its success. YOU made this happen! On Saturday, July 31st, volunteers assembled and delivered 220 meal kits to Cass Community Social Services in Detroit. Twenty-three blankets were cut and tied for Children’s Methodist Home Society by many volunteers. Nine volunteers unpacked and sorted clothing and housewares at Baldwin in Pontiac. Nine volunteers painted a foster care cottage in Redford. Three volunteers delivered school supplies and organized tutoring classrooms at Bound Together in Pontiac. Six volunteers helped in many ways at Open Hands, a drive-through food pantry in Royal Oak.

By opening our hearts and using our hands, together we “loved on our community” in a big, beautiful way. Wasn’t it also fun to hang out, talk, and laugh with old friends and make new connections? We can’t wait for CLD 2023!
